Last night I was up, several times, babysitting the freeze-dryer.
Something was amiss with the machine and I kept getting the error message and alarm.
My options were to just shut it off and try again tomorrow or get up and try and get the error resolved so that it would finish the process.
I was tired.
It was annoying.
It was frustrating.
But I was so
grateful for that alarm.
REMEMBER: Error messages, alarms, “check engine” lights are blessings, as they help to prevent bigger problems from unfolding.
Resolving Error Messages
The trick is to pay attention!
- Do you know what the “check engine light” looks like?
- Do you recognize it as a cue to take action?
- Do you know what to do to find out and fix the underlying issue?
- Do you know who to reach out to, to help with the problem-solving and fixing?
- Are you prepared to do the work involved in the fixing?

Nobody said that the simpler life is easy.
But I surely am grateful for my simpler life and for my error messages and “check engine” lights!
