Do you use a pressure cooker?

Pressure canners can trigger fear for many people, based on stories of old, with old-style canners exploding in the kitchen.

Today, there are new pressure canners and cookers with safety features built in, but that doesn’t mean that people are using them or that they are right for you. 

Do pressure cookers and canners serve a purpose in the modern home and in the modern homestead?

a simpler life

I do use one with low acid foods. I can quite often. I do both waterbath and pressure canning.

Growing up, all we did was the water-bath method, so that limited what was preserved in my house and, thus, it was all I knew.

You can pretty much can anything with a pressure canner! Game-changer
