how to make your own plum sauce https://homesteadian.com/projects/4-operation-plum-sauceThe plums actually came from my neighbours. He has a tree that is simply loaded with fruit every year.
This year, I was too late getting to them but I did manage to pick about 200 plums from his tree - and that was just off a branch or two.
200 plums made about 6 or 7 cups of plum powder.
How to make plum sauce from scratch
- Wash plums
- Cut in half to remove the pit
- Cut them into chunks (I used my KitchenAid DICER attachment)
- Freeze-dry
- Grind into a powder (I used my KitchenAid food processor)
- At this point, you can store the plum powder for future use as sauce or an ingredient in another recipe, Ex dessert
