My Home #9: Vintage-modern Christmas sign

This is part 9 in a 13 part series: My Home

Sometimes things just fall into place and you weren’t even thinking about it!

First, I was given a magnetic signage set saying “Merry Christmas”. It is so cute but what will I do with it?

And, then, I go to a friend’s place to see some vintage tools she wanted to sell. That was fun, but in the “free” pile was this old metal panel in a frame. Interesting!

She said that she had purchased the metal panel at an antique store in St. Mary’s, Ontario, years ago. Now, she was getting rid of it. (Great history attached to this piece.)

When I saw it … I saw a “magnet holder”.

I scooped it up, took it home, and attached the lettering, clicketty-click. It is like they were designed to go together! Even the red paint on the metal panel was perfect.

And, what makes this story even more interesting is that before the magnets and before the vintage metal panel, I had purchased a red and black plaid table runner and some red and black plaid pillow covers!!!

I see a “decor” happening and you do know that I didn’t get the housekeeping gene, right? Included in that missing gene is anything to do with decor or the desire to!

Ho, ho, ho… Merry Christmas!!
